What do you do when you’ve exhausted every possible game scenario for your Nintendo machine? Well you take it apart and mess with the circuits of course! For some reason I just love to see machines messed with and re purposed for new and stimulating fun. They will be our overlords someday, but for now…bend the bejeesus out of them.

The overlords at Google are watching, and don’t you know it, all sorts of glorious pictures are showing up in the google maps street view…which shows pictures snapped from the streets. It sure is getting creepy isn’t it? Check out this poor chap who is currently reigning number 2 or three on the digg front page (this equates to MANY people have now seen you picking your nose in public). You’ve seen the scene in Minority Report where Cruise has his retina’s scanned for on the spot personalized advertising (and government tracking of course). It’s coming quickly isn’t it.

Google Maps: Think before you pick

I generally hate little emoticons and such but for some reason I find these rather charming. The little hand drawn animations are from artist Wang Momo. The little critters are really quite well animated and have been very popular with Chinese web users. She was apparently using these to illustrate her blog in a graphic illustrative way. Her fellow students appropriately nicknamed her “rabbit”. Be warned if you click on her blog link it will automatically starts playing one of the worst songs i’ve ever heard in my life…and the blog is in Chinese so good luck finding the “shut this crap off” button. Oh good, and just so you know the song repeats endlessly. I highly recommend the “start drawing” link instead, unless you:
a. speak Chinese or at least recognize the phrase “audio off”
b. don’t have audio on your computer.

I confess to avoiding Second Life, and not really knowing much about it…managing my First Life is challenging enough. It really is a good time to be a nerd though isn’t it? This video gives me hope that somewhere out there is a young hacker…already plotting a GIANT race of “antmeese” to wreak insect horror through the Second Life landscape.

I can’t wait for my flying car, or even my jetpack! Which would be more fun? I’m guessing jetpak, these babies come from the worlds ONLY turnkey package rocket belt producing mofos in the world. The tin foil on the top kind of scares me, but I’m ready…sign me up, i’ll trade in my old K100 for one that flies.
