Scopitone was a sort of video jukebox created in the early 60′s, considered the precursor to modern music videos. They debuted in France and primarily showed these campy 16mm film shorts. They are of course in retrospect all awesome! Here is a great one sent to me by Mr. Willis which will knock your socks off daddy.
Ken Russell is a British film maker who has made numerous great films. Perhaps his greatest and most controversial was 1971′s The Devils. The film is a completely incredible horrifying yet beautifully insane vision based on real events in France, and ultimately how those in power use mythology in tandem with the gullibility of people, to aid themselves in removing their enemies. Here is a description from IMDB-
Cardinal Richelieu and his power-hungry entourage seek to take control of seventeenth-century France, but need to destroy Father Grandier – the priest who runs the fortified town that prevents them from exerting total control. So they seek to destroy him by setting him up as a warlock in control of a devil-possessed nunnery, the mother superior of which is sexually obsessed by him. A mad witch-hunter is brought in to gather evidence against the priest, ready for the big trial.
Below is a clip from a recently released hour long documentary on the making of the film. At the time of course this film was incredibly controversial. Today I doubt it could even get made by a mainstream film maker.
Or just the results of an insane juggler who got stuck in a triangular drainage pipe one day? In order to take the leap from mundane park annoyance, to packing a theater full of people, you need to evolve. Michael Moschen shows us the results of evolution in the art of the juggle (damn that was gay). To help with the residual pain of having to watch a juggler, I included a Mitch Hedberg video…
Mitch Hedberg “Track 5 on the CD will not be Chainsaw Juggler”:
Here is a pretty fun trailer for the upcoming Family Guy Matrix movie! I thought I had seen too much Family Guy, just imagine how much this person had to watch to gather and compile this. Some people sure have lots of time on their hands, it’s great that they spend it creating videos to entertain me! Thanks!
This is awesome in so many ways…the next Biggie Smalls perhaps. I like how the police are charging him with Grand Theft Larceny…so they can get him into the “system” and get him some “help”.
“It’s fun to do bad stuff!”
